    Ice Skating

     canary wharf ice_skating december

    • Date: All month long
    • Venue: Canada Square Park

It wouldn’t be winter without the ice rank in Canada Square Park. It usually opens in November and stays until February, giving everyone the chance to pop on their skates and see if they’re as good as skating as they think.

Times and prices are available on the official Ice Rink Canary Wharf website.

    Jim Jeffries

    • Date: 3rd December
    • Venue: the o2

Having filmed his most recent special at the Hammersmith Apollo, Jim Jeffries is back in town for one night only at the o2. Expect some very controversial opinions and his views on the world as it stands.

    Jimmy Carr

    • Date: 5th & 15th December
    • Venue: indigo at the o2

Make sure to do your jaw stretches before going to see Jimmy Carr. You’re always guaranteed to walk away, having laughed more than your daily recommended allowance.

    An evening with Michael Bublé

    michael-buble

    • Date: 9th and 10th December
    • Venue: The o2

We think it’s must be a legal requirement for Mr Bublé to be played as soon as someone mentions Christmas, and we can’t think of a better way to get in the festive mood than spending an evening with the Canadian crooner.

Expect many Christmas classics throughout the event with an added dollop of charm.

    Fun Lovin’ Criminals Christmas Party

    • Date: 12th December
    • Venue: indigo at the o2

We don’t know what to expect from a Christmas party held by the Fun Lovin’ Criminals in the slightest. If they’re swapping mince pies for Scooby snacks, then it’s sure to be some night out.

    Pete Tong presents Ibiza Classics

    • Date: 13th & 14th December
    • Venue: the o2

Who says you can’t bring the Balearics to London on a cold December night? Pete Tong brings a whole orchestra with him to turn The o2 into one big rave.

    Jack Whitehall

    • Date: 15th December
    • Venue: The o2

Squeezed into a hectic week at the o2 after this November show sold out, this is Jack’s comeback tour after taking a little time to star in movies like The Nutcracker, The Queen’s Corgi and Jungle Cruise (with The Rock no less).

    Rod Stewart

    • Date: 17th to 20th December
    • Venue: The o2

In what was one night only that quickly became three sell-out shows, Rod is back in London to run through his extensive back catalogue, get everyone in a massive sing-along and possibly kick a few footballs while he’s at it.

    The Overtones

     the_overtones

    • Date: 18th December
    • Venue: indigo at the o2

A little bit of crooning, some harmonies and then a little Christmas threw in for good measure. If it all sounds like an ideal evening out for you, then The Overtones is exactly what you’re looking for.

    Alter Bridge

    • Date: 21st December
    • Venue: The o2

One of the last chances to rock out before Christmas, American rockers Alter Bridge come back to London for what promises to be another loud night out.

    Peter Pan Cup

    • Date: 25th December
    • Venue: Hyde Park Lake

Staying in London on Christmas Day and looking for something truly unique to do? Grab your swimming shorts and head over to Hyde Park, where a tradition that started in 1964 is still going strong.

Join in with members of the Serpentine Swimming Club as they go for the very short 91m race in the lake in water that averages just 4°C.

    Disney on Ice

    • Date: 26th December t 5th January 2020
    • Venue: The o2

Not but 24 hours removed from opening presents, and we’re going to have families descending upon the o2 for another few hours of singing along to Disney classics.

Anytime Disney on Ice comes to town it always you’re guaranteed a jam-packed atmosphere at the o2. This year the theme is focussed on 100 years of Disney with characters from the entire Disney vault making an appearance.

    NYE Fireworks

    nye_fireworks_london_in_december

    • Date: 31st December
    • Venue: Victoria Embankment

Now you can get a lovely view of the surrounding area from your cosy room, but for those brave enough to venture out on a cold night in London, the fireworks are the big event of the evening.

The main place that thousands flock to is down by Victoria Embankment, where the big show is happening. You’ll need tickets to go, and they cost £10 per person. Demand is high, and you need to register in advance on the London.gov website.

    NYE Dinner & Firework Cruise

    • Date: 31st December
    • Venue: The Sipping Room

Like the idea of seeing the fireworks but dread the thought of spending all night feeling so cold? Then how does a fancy meal at The Sipping Room followed by sipping champagne on a cruise boat as you watch the fireworks right in the middle of the Thames sound?

It’s a long old evening with dinner starting at half seven, but the cruise is one of the more unique ways to spend NYE.

    One Night in Vegas

    • Date: 31st December
    • Venue: Boisdale of Canary Wharf

Offering something a little different as a way to bring in the new year, the One Night in Vegas at Boisdale sees the king himself take the stage and transport you right back to the heyday of Las Vegas in 1976.

There will be a big band feeling and feather girl dancers for that original Vegas feeling.
